Sean Blair Victim in Dos Palos Crash on Highway 152
Duran Guardado Injured in Dos Palos Crash
DOS PALOS- According to the Merced Sun-Star, a deadly car accident occurred Wednesday morning on Highway 152 just west of San Juan Road.
A total of three vehicles were involved in the crash which occurred at 5:40 a.m. including a 95′ Chevy, a 2005 Chevy, and a 2014 Volvo big rig.
Authorities report that the driver of the 2005 Chevy pickup truck identified as Duran Guardado, 59, of Firebaugh, was in the process of making a right turn into a field. Directly behind Guardado was the driver of the 95′ pickup truck, Sean Blair. Behind Blair was the big rig driver, Luis Ivan Llerenas, 38.
For unknown reasons, Llerenas failed to recognize that the vehicles were slowing down to turn before barreling into the rear of Sean Blair’s vehicle who then struck Duran Guardado’s vehicle.
Per the Merced Sun-Star, Sean Blair tragically did not survive the collision as he was pronounced at the scene.
Duran Guardado was moderately injured and transported by ambulance to Los Banos Memorial.
The driver of the big rig, Llerenas, was uninjured and did not require any medical assistance.
California Highway Patrol officials were able to confirm that no drugs or alcohol were involved but will likely hold the big rig driver liable for causing the collision.
