UPDATED: Fatal Crash on PCH at Rambla Vista in Malibu
MALIBU, Calif. (Dec. 19, 2018) — Seann Patrick Flynn, 29, of Los Angeles, has been identified as the motorcyclist who died Wednesday in a traffic accident involving a garbage truck on Pacific Coast Highway at Rambla Vista in Malibu, according to the California Highway Patrol and Malibu Times.
Flynn, who worked for Sotheby’s International Realty, Inc. in Malibu, was attempting to pass a slow-moving garbage truck on the right side. As the truck truned onto Rambla Vista, Flynn struck the vehicle and was thrown off the bike and run over by its back wheels, the news report said.
The city of Malibu closed some lanes of PCH in the area following the collision, specifically the westbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway.
Additionally, the eastbound traffic on PCH is restricted to one lane, according to the city of Malibu.
Traffic may be affected there for several hours.
Malibu Accident Investigation
It’s unknown what led to this collision, but police are investigating what the cause was and who is liable.
