Teen Hurt in Bakersfield Car Accident Near Hillcrest Memorial Park
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (NoV. 2, 2018) – Seferino Meneses Jr., 19, was injured Thursday afternoon when he was struck by a truck near Hillcrest Memorial Park at Highway 184.
The collision took place about 3:40 p.m. on Nov. 1, 2018.
The teenager was jogging with a group of other teens near the park when driver Raquel M. Degalvan, 68, in her 2005 Toyota Tundra pickup truck stopped to let them cross a driveway. The teen proceeded to run eastbound across the park driveway, just east of Watergrass Road. Meanwhile, another pickup truck, a Chevrolet 2500 driven by a 17-year-old boy, crashed into the back of that truck and the impact pushed the first vehicle into the boy.
The boy was thrown down and hit the right shoulder asphalt.
The teenager suffered major head injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment.
