1 Injured in Selma Hit-and-Run Crash on South Avenue Near Del Rey Avenue
SELMA, CA (April 7, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash near South Avenue and Del Rey Avenue in Selma.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the incident shortly before 7 p.m.
CHP said a blue sedan and at least one other vehicle collided for an unknown reason. They crashed in front of 10919 South Avenue, just west of Del Rey Avenue, in Selma.
Driver Hits Another Car, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene. They found one victim who ended up suffering from unspecified injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that a driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area. A Good Samaritan later caught the hit-and-run suspect nearby.
Authorities forced South Avenue to shut down following the wreck. The Selma hit-and-run crash is still under investigation
