Woman, 23, Seriously Injured in Selma Hit-and-Run on Whitson Street
SELMA, CA (July 3, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash on Whitson Street in Selma.
According to the FOX 26 News and Your Central Valley, the accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the collision shortly after 8:40 a.m.
Selma police said a truck hit a female pedestrian for an unknown reason. The vehicle struck her on Whitson Street, north of Floral Avenue.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the 23-year-old woman left in the center median. She sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.

Medical personnel rushed her to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment and surgery. Officials did not release her name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver of the truck did not stop to render aid to the woman and fled the area. They forced a portion of Whitson Street to close following the crash.
Authorities later located the vehicle with major damage to the hood and grill near Howard and Northhill streets. They soon arrested the motorist for felony hit-and-run with injuries.
The Selma hit-and-run collision is still under investigation.
