Truck Crashes Through Center Divider Hits Vehicles on I-80 Freeway

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (Feb. 13, 2025) — A semi-truck reportedly lost control and crossed over the center divider of the Interstate 80 Freeway then crashed head-on into two vehicles in Foothill Farms.

At least three people were injured in the multi-vehicle crash at 6:22 a.m. on Feb. 13th, just west of Greenback Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported a driver in a black sedan reportedly cut off the driver in the big rig truck.

The truck driver swerved to the left and drove through the center divide from the eastbound side of the freeway to the westbound side. The semi-truck crashed head-on into a white Lexus IS SUV and a grey Honda Civic, the report said. A silver minivan was also among the vehicles hit or damaged from debris. The cars were scattered across the middle lanes.

The truck also destroyed roughly 50 feet of the center divider before it hit the cars and wound up in a ditch on the westbound side of the freeway.

The Sacramento Fire Department responded to help those injured in the collision. Three ambulances transported those hurt to a hospital, but there were no further details.

Tow trucks removed several vehicles from the roadway and investigators are working to determine fault for the truck accident on the 80 Freeway in Foothill Farms.
