Semi-Truck, Car Accident on I-5 Freeway, Near Camp Pendleton

OCEANSIDE, Calif., (October 8, 2026) — A red semi-truck and a black Honda sedan were involved in a traffic accident Thursday on the I-5 Freeway North near the Santa Margarita River in the Camp Pendleton area.
The collision resulted in unknown injuries and significant right-side damage to the sedan which was left partially blocking the slow lane.
The incident was reported on Oct. 8th at approximately 1:59 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Emergency response units were dispatched to the scene, with the first unit arriving at 2:16 p.m.
The collision involved a red semi-truck and a black Honda sedan, both of which ended up on the right-hand side of the freeway. The severity of the crash prompted a call for towing services, and NK Towing was contacted to assist with vehicle removal.
At this time, it is unclear if there were any injuries reported from the accident. However, the right side of the black Honda sedan sustained major damage, as noted by the Highway Patrol.
The authorities have not released the identities of the drivers involved, and it remains under investigation by local police. They are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward with any information.
