Semi-Truck, Car Crash Riverside 91 Freeway, Buchanan Street in Corona

RIVERSIDE, Calif., (June 16, 2026) — Two juveniles were seriously injured in a crash involving a red semi-trailer and a black Hyundai Elantra early Tuesday morning on the Riverside 91 Freeway, just west of Buchanan Street in Corona, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident was reported June 16th on eastbound State Route 91 at approximately 4:28 a.m. when a caller heard the collision and observed a vehicle smoking. The crash reportedly involved a red semi-trailer and a black Hyundai Elantra, which went off the freeway. Responding officers found the injured parties at the scene, including two juveniles. Emergency crews, including Ontario Fire Department and AMR paramedics, were dispatched to the scene. The injured individuals were transported for medical care.

The black Hyundai Elantra and the semi-trailer, each of which sustained significant damage, were both towed from the freeway.

Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances leading up to the collision. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to come forward.
