Semi-Truck, Cars in Crash on Riverside 91 Freeway in Yorba Linda
YORBA LINDA, Calif. (August 17, 2026) — A traffic collision involving a semi-truck and two black vehicles caused a major disruption on the eastbound Riverside 91 Freeway in Yorba Linda Monday morning, with multiple lanes blocked.
The crash was reported around 7:15 a.m. on August 17 in the eastbound lanes of State Route 91 just west of Yorba Linda Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP reported that a semi-truck collided with a black 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 SUV and another black vehicle, blocking the left lanes of the freeway. The Mercedes reportedly overturned on its roof. By approximately 7:21 a.m., eastbound SR-91 traffic was stopped across lanes 1 through 5 near the scales, creating a significant backup.
Tow crews were requested as authorities worked to clear the scene. By 7:35 a.m., one lane had reopened, although traffic was still moving slowly. The roadway was reported clear by approximately 7:57 a.m., and all lanes were open shortly afterward.
A black 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 SUV was among the vehicles removed from the scene. CHP records indicate the vehicle was towed and stored by a local towing company.
The California Highway Patrol’s incident was closed at approximately 8:17 a.m. Authorities did not immediately provide information regarding injuries or the circumstances that led to the collision. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
