Semi-Truck in Fremont Crash on Interstate 680 Freeway, Auto Mall Pkwy
Big Rig Truck Sets Off 4-Vehicle Chain-Reaction Crash
FREMONT, Calif. (March 19, 2025) — A chain-reaction crash involving a semi-truck happened Wednesday morning in Fremont on the southbound Interstate 680 Freeway, just north of Auto Mall Parkway.
The collision, involving four vehicles, happened at around 6:32 a.m. on March 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver in a blue Peterbuilt truck and trailer collided with one vehicle, setting off a chain-reaction crash with two more. The motorists involved were a white GMC pickup truck, a grey Lexus sedan, and a blue Hyundai Elantra.
The circumstances leading up to the Fremont truck crash on the 680 Freeway are under investigation.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded to help those injured, but there were no serious injuries reported on scene.
Tow trucks removed all of the damaged vehicles from the roadway including the Lexus and Hyundai.
