Big Rig Truck Overturns in Crash on I-405 Freeway
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Jan. 7, 2022) — A semi-truck overturned in a collision on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway early Friday morning between Palo Verde Avenue and Bellflower Boulevard.
The crash happened about 6:15 a.m. on Jan. 7th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Caltrans closed down all traffic lanes on the southbound side of the freeway temporarily due to a 10-gallon fuel spill and the truck blocking four lanes.
Additionally, a black sedan traveling in front of the overturned semi-truck was also involved in the crash and blocked middle lanes of the 405 Freeway.
The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene to assist anyone hurt in the crash, but there are no further details.
Meanwhile, Long Beach police requested Caltrans close the Palo Verde Avenue on ramp to the southbound 405 Freeway.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault.
