Semi-Truck, Pickup in Fatal Crash on (SR-18) Palmdale Road in Adelanto

ADELANTO, Calif. (Aug. 18, 2026) — A deadly crash involving a semi-truck and pickup happened Tuesday morning on State Route 18 or Palmdale Road, west of Baldy Mesa Road in Adelanto.
A 71-year-old woman driving the pickup truck died in the crash, but her name has not been released.
The two-vehicle crash was reported at about 7:35 a.m. on August 18, between a dark blue or black 2022 Chevrolet Silverado and a tractor-trailer with BHC Trucking LLC signage on the cab.
It’s unknown what circumstances led to the collision that left the Silverado with extensive front and passenger side damage and the semi-truck with major front-end damage.
Both vehicles went off the roadway and were found crashed on the north side of Palmdale Road.
The woman driving the Silverado was pronounced dead at the scene, but their identity has not been released.
The 60-year-old driver of the big rig truck was injured and transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Authorities closed down SRl-18 or Palmdale Road in both directions from Richardson Road to White Road and Aster Road to conduct a traffic investigation.
