UCLA Student Killed, Two Hurt in Car Accident Near Studio City
STUDIO CITY, Calif. (March 25, 2022) – Sera Aintablian, 20, died in a Studio City crash early Thursday on a transition road from the southbound Hollywood 101 Freeway to the eastbound Ventura 134 Freeway.
A 20-year-old Pasadena woman and two others were involved in a two-vehicle crash about 2:05 a.m. on March 24rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Sera Aintablian was heading southbound on the 101 freeway. She was merging onto the 134 Freeway, but attempted to stay on the 101. As she attempted to switch lanes, she lost control and hit the center divider near the Tujunga Avenue off ramp. The vehicle got ripped in half and severely damaged. An oncoming red SUV slammed into the car. Sadly, the young woman suffered major injuries and died at the scene, police said.
Paramedics responded and rushed the two survivors to a hospital in unknown condition.
Meanwhile, authorities closed down the Tujunga off ramp. They also diverted traffic away from the 101 Freeway to the 134 Freeway. Investigators were at the scene for several hours piecing together evidence to determine what led up to the deadly crash.
At this time, it’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the fatal Studio City crash.
