Serenity Lira Killed, One Hurt on Interstate 10 Freeway, Hargrave StreetTeen Killed in Solo Crash on I-10 Freeway; One Injured

BANNING, Calif. (June 13, 2022)  — Serenity Lira, 19, of Fontana, died in a solo-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on the Interstate 10 Freeway in Banning.

Two people were riding in the vehicle when the collision occurred at 12:35 a.m., according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.

Serenity Lira suffered major injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, roughly a quarter-mile east of Hargrave Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department responded to the freeway crash and transported a second person from the vehicle to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Meanwhile, it’s unknown if Serenity Lira was the driver or a passenger.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

Finally, there is a GoFundMe page set up for Lira’s family to cover the costs of her funeral.
