3 Injured in Rollover Crash at Rancho and Verbena Roads
ADELANTO, Calif. (Jan. 3, 2019) — Pedro Martinez, 38, Anthony Lopez, 42, and Sergio Garcia, 18, were all seriously injured in a crash on New Year’s Day on Rancho Road near Verbena Road, according to a report by the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Department.
The crash took place about 1:29 p.m. on January 1, 2019.
Police from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the solo-vehicle collision in the city of Adelanto. A passing motorist saw the overturned vehicle and all three people lying on the grounds next to it. It is believe that all three of them were ejected from the vehicle and had not been wearing their seatbelts, the report said. The initial findings by police are that the silver 2003 Honda was traveling eastbound on Rancho Road prior to hitting a south curb that caused the vehicle to rollover.
They were all airlifted to local hospitals where they were treated for major injuries suffered in the crash.
The Victor Valley M.A.I.T. team is heading up an investigation.
Witnesses are urged to contact Deputy Katie Merrill at Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, (760) 552-6801.
