The accident involving two vehicles took place around 5:20 p.m.
As per the article, San Jose police said a 17-year-old boy was going south on Monterey Road when he collided with another car.
The other driver had attempted to turn north on Monterey Road when the crash happened.
Both motorists were transported to the hospital where the teen later died. He was identified as Sergio Ramirez, of San Jose.
The man driving the second vehicle suffered injuries described as non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
