Sergio Reyes, 60; and Willie Reyes, 26, Injured in Dixon Crash on Interstate 80
DIXON, CA (May 11, 2022) – A fatal crash on the Interstate 80 left Sergio Reyes and Willie Reyes injured near Dixon.
The California Highway Patrol identified the Elk Grove residents as victims of the wreck which took place on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened when Sergio Reyes, 60, was driving a Ford F-450 west on the Interstate 80 near Dixon with Willie Reyes, 26, and two other passengers. Their car then slowed for traffic.
A Ford F-650 approached and slammed into the back of the F-450. Both pickup trucks then hit a metal guardrail, east of Pedrick Road.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
CHP said the F-650 ultimately side-swiped a Volvo tractor-trailer. The Daily Republic wrote that the accident occurred on May 10 at about 6:50 a.m.
Sergio Reyes, Willie Reyes and two more men sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics arrived and treated them at the site.
A passenger in the F-650, 28-year-old Adrian Flores, survived with major injuries. Medical personnel rushed her to a hospital for treatment.
The driver of the F-650 died at the scene. Meanwhile a private vehicle took the operator of the Volvo, 57-year-old Victor Lezhenko, following the wreck.
