Woman, 24, Arrested on DUI and Vehicular Manslaughter Charges
SUTTER COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 25, 2022) – Serina Ali, 24, was arrested on DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges after a fatal crash Saturday in Sutter County.
The two-vehicle collision occurred just after 1 a.m. on Oct. 22nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers report that she was driving at high speed in a 2020 Honda Ridgeline southbound on Humphrey Road.
Also, the Honda reportedly drove through the intersection and collided with the left side of a 2010 Dodge Charger sedan. The 35-year-old woman driving the Dodge suffered major injuries and died at the scene. She is identified as a mother of two, Toni Morgan, according to her GoFundMe page. She leaves behind her children, Alaunjae Morgan, 18, and Amahjinae Morgan,12.
Meanwhile, a passenger in the Honda possibly broke some ribs and cuts on her hands and legs. Paramedics transported the passenger to a hospital for further care.
They also transported Serina Ali to a hospital where she was later arrested on DUI charges upon her release.
Authorities was booked on charges of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
Finally, police did not release the name of the woman who died in the crash.
