1 Killed, 1 Injured in Serra Mesa Crash Near Mission Center and Murray Ridge
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 23, 2023) – A crash killed one person and injured another near Mission Center Road and Murray Ridge Road in Serra Mesa.
According to The San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News, the tragic accident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on March 23 at around 12:30 p.m.
The incident began when a Chevrolet pickup truck was going north on Mission Center Road, near Murray Ridge Road, in the Serra Mesa neighborhood. At the same time, a Land Rover LR3 was traveling south.
For an unknown reason, the Chevrolet spun out of control and into the southbound lane of the road. Police said in the process, the pickup truck slammed into the Land Rover.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced the driver of the Chevrolet, a 53-year-old man, dead at the scene.
The 31-year-old man driving the SUV complained of chest, back, neck and shoulder pain as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed him to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, police forced the area of Mission Center and Murray Ridge roads to shut down for a time following the wreck.
