Officer Injured in Collision at Highway 32 and Broadway Street
Chico, CA (September 16, 2022) – Police arrested 25-year-old Sesar Diaz-Ruvalcaba following a suspected DUI crash that occurred in the area of Highway 32 and Broadway Street.
According to ABC7 News, Diaz-Ruvalcaba was driving a 2013 Nissan Sentra traveling around Chico Thursday morning. Earlier reports indicated the motorist blew through a red light at the intersection of Highway 32 and Broadway Street.
The article published online mentioned the Nissan crashed into a 2019 Chevrolet, a marked Chico Police Emergency Vehicle. Our sources confirmed the collision resulted in injuries to the officer.
DUI Suspect Arrested After Car Accident in Chico
Meanwhile, investigators determined Sesar Diaz-Ruvalcaba was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Police then took the suspect into custody for suspected of felony DUI and causing injury.
Detectives continue to gather several factors surrounding the incident that happened at Highway 32 and Broadway Street.
