GUSTINE, Merced County (July 1, 2016) – Several people sustained injuries as a result of a collision on Highway 33 at Centinella Avenue, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The accident happened today at around 12:30 p.m.
Consequently, the CHP logged a semi, a black Jeep, a green Dodge Ram and a white KIA vehicle are some of the vehicles involved in a wreck.
In detail, an article by Merced Sun-Star mentioned a tractor-trailer was traveling north on Highway 33. Then suddenly, it crashed into a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500. The impact caused a bumper-to-bumper chain reaction with two more vehicles that were slowing down, a 2016 Jeep and a 2004 Volkswagen.
Further, 22-year-old male driver and a 22-year-old female passenger in the Dodge sustained injuries from the crash. Both were transported to Los Banos Memorial Hospital for treatment. Another 12-year-old male passenger in the Jeep also sustained minor injuries.
Due to coroners still working on notifying the families of the involved, all name have been withheld.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
