Stockton Traffic Collision on I-5 Leaves Multiple Drivers with Minor Injuries

STOCKTON, Calif., (October 27, 2026) — A Stockton crash involving multiple vehicles resulted in minor injuries Monday afternoon on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway near the Fremont Street off-ramp.

The incident occurred on Oct. 26th at approximately 3:48 p.m. and involved a big rig, a pickup truck, an SUV, and a sedan. The collision blocked the No.3 lane of the freeway, and authorities established traffic control measures to manage the situation.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the problem was initially reported as a major injury collision but was later downgraded to minor injuries. Emergency responders, including paramedics and fire department personnel, arrived on scene shortly after the incident was reported.

Three vehicles sustained damage, and authorities requested two tow trucks to clear the freeway. The No. 3 lane remained closed for a period of time as responders worked to clear the wreckage and assist those involved.

Police are actively investigating the circumstances leading to the collision and are seeking any witnesses who may have observed the incident.
