Pedestrian Killed in Shafter Crash Near Santa Fe Way and Cherry Avenue
SHAFTER, CA (September 12, 2022) – A crash killed a pedestrian near Santa Fe Way and Cherry Avenue in Shafter.
According to an article published by the 23 ABC News, the tragic accident took place early Monday. Officers reported the collision shortly after 2:15 a.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Shafter. The driver hit the person near the intersection of Santa Fe Way and Cherry Avenue.
A California Highway Patrol dispatch described the car as a blue Ford Fiesta.
Victim Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the victim down on the ground. The patient ended up suffering from serious injuries as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the individual dead. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped or stayed at the site following the collision. The cause of the fatal Shafter pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced northbound Sante Fe Way to shut down for a time near Cherry, and between Orange Avenue and Riverside Street after the incident.
