1 Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash at Shafter Avenue and Merced Avenue
SHAFTER, CA (July 22, 2021) – At least one was injured after a hit-and-run crash at Shafter Avenue and Merced Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Wednesday morning in the area of Shafter. Officers reported the accident on July 21 at about 6:44 a.m.
According to their dispatch, a work truck slammed into another vehicle. The two crashed for an unknown reason at the intersection of Shafter Avenue and Merced Avenue.
Work Truck Hits Another Vehicle in Shafter
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Highway 43. They found a female victim hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries she sustained in the wreck. Officials did not disclose her name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the work truck did not stop to render aid and fled eastbound on Merced Avenue.
Officers forced the intersection of Shafter and Merced avenues to shut down following the hit-and-run crash. The collision is still under investigation.
