SHAFTER, California (March 31, 2016) — A tow truck and a green Honda Accord collided Thursday morning in a crash on West Lerdo Highway at Scaroni Avenue, a California Highway Patrol report said.

The 7:51 a.m. crash caused both vehicles to end up into a nearby field. One person was trapped in a vehicle following the crash and required help from firefighters and paramedics.

The Honda suffered major damage in the crash. Police are investigating the cause and will determine who is liable.
