Shahin Moeinimostofi, 46, Injured in Mission Viejo Crash on 5 Freeway
MISSION VIEJO, CA (September 16, 2021) – Shahin Moeinimostofi was hospitalized after a car crash on the 5 Freeway in Mission Viejo.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 46-year-old man as the victim of the collision which took place late Thursday afternoon.
Officers said Shahin Moeinimostofi was riding one of the three vehicles which collided in the city of Mission Viejo. They crashed on the southbound 5 Freeway at the Crown Valley Parkway off-ramp.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The dispatch described a car involved as a gray Toyota Prious. CHP confirmed that Shahin Moeinimostofi sustained minor injuries as a result of the 5 Freeway crash.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and took the patient to a hospital for treatment. The accident took place shortly before 5:40 p.m.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound 5 Freeway to shut down at Crown Valley following the wreck. The cause of the Mission Viejo crash is still under investigation.
