4 Injured in Shandon Crash at Highway 46 and Center Street
SHANDON, CA (April 10, 2021) – Several were hospitalized after a car crash at Highway 46 and Center Street in Shandon.
According to an article published by KSBY News, the accident occurred on Saturday. The wreck involved a 2016 Dodge Ram pickup and a 2020 Toyota Tacoma.
The incident happened when the Dodge Ram was at the intersection of Highway 46 and Center Street, trying to make a left turn on the highway.
At the same time, the Toyota was going east in the No. 2 lane at about 65 mph. The 42-year-old Paso Robles man driving the pickup did not see the Tacoma and entered the intersection.
Girl, 4, Victim in Car Collision Saturday
The California Highway Patrol said the two vehicles then collided at the intersection. Both cars sustained major damage upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene. They found the 55-year-old driver of the Toyota and their three passengers, including a 4-year-old girl, hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took all four occupants of the car to the Twin Cities Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The motorist in the Dodge declined medical aid.
Officials did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the roadway to shut down following the crash.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the collision.
