SHANDON (March 20, 2017)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a deadly crash took place Friday evening, March 17, on Highway 41 near Highway 46 resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to a man and a woman.
Per CHP, Estela Carballovillalobos, 22, of Clovis, was the driver of a Honda Accord traveling southbound before suddenly veering into northbound lanes. The woman’s vehicle collided head-on with the driver of a Subaru, Max Martinez, 54, of Shandon.
The impact of the wreck caused fatal injuries to Carballovillalobos and seriously injured her passenger Serena Garcia, 23, of Fresno.
Meanwhile, Martinez was moderate to seriously injured and rushed to an emergency room.
The Jaws of Life were needed to extricate parties from both vehicle, the report added.
Authorities believe that it is possible that alcohol may have played a contributing role as the investigation is pending.
