Woman Dies at Hospital After Hit-and-Run Collision at G and 25th
Merced, CA (June 12, 2022) – Shantel Hamilton, a 36-year-old woman, suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred in the area of G Street and 25th Street.
Your Central Valley and ABC News published an article online reporting a traffic accident that occurred at the intersection in Merced Monday evening. Our sources indicated a vehicle struck a female party at the crossing of G and 25th.
After the collision, the motorist reportedly fled the scene and left the pedestrian in the roadway.
Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Merced
Emergency crews arrived at the site shortly after 9 a.m. Responding paramedics immediately attended to the victim. After the evaluation, medical personnel decided to transfer the injured woman to a local hospital for further treatment. The patient later sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Authorities identified the deceased as Shantel Hamilton, of Merced.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. Given that, detectives continue to gather several information to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect. Further investigation is ongoing on the accident that happened at G and 25th Street in Merced.
