6 Injured in Shasta County Crash on Highway 299 Near Ingot

SHASTA COUNTY, CA (July 27, 2021) – Several were injured after a car crash on Highway 99 near Ingot in Shasta County.

According to an article published by the Record Searchlight, the accident took place on Tuesday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 11:30 a.m.

The California Highway Patrol said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in eastern Shasta County. They crashed on Highway 299, east of Ingot.

2 Vehicles Collide

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and extricated one trapped occupant from the wreckage. A total of six people ended up hurt as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel rushed one victim to a hospital and listed them in critical condition. They treated the other five patients for the minor injuries they sustained upon impact.

Officials did not disclose the names of the wounded parties. Meanwhile, CHP forced both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 299 to shut down for more than one hour following the wreck.

Authorities are still determining the cause of the Ingot crash is still under investigation.
