Major Injury Car Accident on Highway 299 in the Redding area
REDDING, Calif. (Dec. 4, 2023) — A two-vehicle crash on Highway 299 happened Sunday morning near Whiskey Creek Road in Whiskeytown in Shasta County.
The collision occurred at around 11:09 a.m. on Dec. 3rd, just west of Shasta and Redding, according to a report by Action News Now.
Two motorists including a green SUV were involved. One of the drivers involved was allegedly distracted at the time due to a cell phone while behind the wheel, according to the news article.
Paramedics responded to help those injured including at least one person with major injuries.
The green SUV sustained major front-end damage in the collision. Meanwhile, the eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 299 became blocked by the vehicles and emergency responders after the Shasta County crash on Highway 299.
Finally, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault and if any other charges will be filed.
