1 Killed, Several Injured in Rollover Crash on Highway 299
LOCATION: Eastern Shasta County
DATE OF ACCIDENT: Monday, October 22nd
October 23, 2018 – One person was killed, and several others were injured after their vehicle rolled off Highway 299 Monday afternoon.
According to Record Searchlight, 21-year-old Elida A. Tooley, of Burney, was driving westbound on the highway when for unknown reasons she veered off the roadway and overturned multiple times.
Preliminary investigation revealed a female passenger in the SUV was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected during the crash. That woman suffered fatal injuries as a result of the incident, but it was not immediately known whether the passenger died at the scene or at the location.
The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending notification of next of kin.
4 Juveniles Injured in Car Accident Monday in Shasta County
Authorities added a juvenile suffered major injuries in the accident and was rushed to Mercy Medical Center for treatment. Furthermore, three other passengers, who were also described as juveniles were also transported to Mayers Memorial Hospital in Fall River Mills where they were treated and released.
Meanwhile, Tooley reportedly suffered moderate injuries in the wreck.
