Man Seriously Injured in Shasta County Hit-and-Run on Knighton Road and Interstate 5

SHASTA COUNTY, CA (March 2, 2022) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash on Knighton Road and Interstate 5 in Shasta County.

According to an article published by the KRCRTV News, the accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the collision shortly before 7 p.m.

The incident happened when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in Shasta County. The driver hit him near the Knighton Road off-ramp on the eastbound side of the Interstate 5.

Driver Hits Man, Flees Scene

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and soon found the man left wounded in the roadway. He sustained serious facial injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel rushed the victim to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose his name and condition at the time.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and then fled the area. Officers forced the the Knighton Road off-ramp and the Interstate 5 to shut down following the incident.

The cause of the Shasta County hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
