SACRAMENTO, Calif. (June 12, 2023) – Shawna Jourdan, 38, of San Jose died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 near Elkhorn Boulevard in Sacramento.
The collision occurred around 10:07 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7th, according to an article published by the KCRA News.
Just before the deadly collision, the woman had been driving her vehicle southbound on Highway 99 and got a flat tire, police said. She exited her vehicle and crossed over into another lane where an oncoming vehicle struck her on the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Pedestrian Identified
Firefighters responded to the freeway and located the woman in traffic lanes. Sadly, she suffered serious injuries and died at the scene. The Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner identified her as Shawna Marie Jourdan after notifying her family members.
Meanwhile, the driver who hit her stopped and cooperated with police. The cause of the fatal Sacramento pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
