Sheila Gibson, 60, Killed in Palmdale Pedestrian Accident on 10th Street West
PALMDALE, CA (July 16, 2021) – Sheila Gibson was killed after a pedestrian accident on 10th Street West in Palmdale.
The coroner’s office identified the 60-year-old transient woman as the victim of the fatal crash which occurred last week on Friday.
The incident happened when Sheila Gibson was walking east in the No. 2 southbound lane of 10th Street West in Palmdale. At the same time, a 2002 Honda Civic was going south in the same lane.
Man Hit by Car
For an unknown reason, the car then struck her. Deputies said the 18-year-old woman driving the Honda hit the pedestrian south of Avenue N-8.
The Antelope Valley Times wrote that the collision took place on July 9 at around 9:27 p.m. Firefighters along with the paramedics pronounced Sheila Gibson dead at the scene of the Palmdale crash.
Meanwhile, officers did not mention if the driver immediately stopped after hitting the victim. The cause of the Palmdale pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
