Woman Killed in 5 Freeway Crash ID’d
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2018) – Shella Pagsanjan, 44, of San Diego, died Monday night in a multi-vehicle collision on the Interstate 5 Freeway, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The woman was driving a convertible Mercedes southbound on the freeway when her car was rear-ended by a pickup truck, and was then pushed into the rear of another pickup truck.
The Mercedes was crushed between the two pickup trucks in what was described as a chain-reaction crash.
Paramedics rushed Pagsanjuan to UCSD Medical Center Emergency Department with life-threatening injuries, but she later died at 8:18 p.m. the same day.
The driver of the truck that set off the chain-reaction crash was also taken to the hospital.
