Shelli Ross, 53, Killed in El Dorado Crash on Highway 49 Near China Hill
EL DORADO, CA (July 14, 2022) – Shelli Ross was killed after a car crash on Highway 49 south of the El Dorado town
The coroner’s office identified the 53-year-old Placerville woman as one of the drivers in the fatal wreck which took place on Wednesday.
The incident happened when Shelli R. Ross was driving a 1996 Ford Explorer on Highway 49 in El Dorado. For an unknown reason, she collided with a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta.
2 Cars Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the two cars crashed near China Hill Road. The Ford then rolled over due to the impact of the collision.
The Mountain Democrat wrote that the accident occurred on July 13 shortly before 4 p.m. Shelli Ross ended up ejected from her vehicle as a result of the crash.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene. CHP did not mention if the driver of the Volkswagen, an El Dorado woman, sustained any injury following the wreck.
Officers forced a stretch of Highway 49 to shut down for a time after the incident. The cause of the El Dorado crash is still under investigation.
