Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Shelltown Crash at Osborne and Marine View
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 2, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash at Osborne Street and Marine View Avenue in the Shelltown neighborhood.
According to an article published by the San Diego Union-Tribune, the accident occurred on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 12:15 p.m.
The incident happened when a 32-year-old man was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle north on Osborn Street, approaching Marine View Avenue, in Shelltown.
For an unknown reason, a Nissan Cube directly pulled in front of him. Police said the rider tried to avoid the other driver, failed and collided with the SUV.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene near the exit and entrance ramps to north Interstate 5. The motorcyclist ended up partially trapped underneath the SUV.
He sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took him to a hospital for treatment of a broken left femur.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded patient and his condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Osborne and Marine View to shut down following the wreck.
Authorities are still investigating the Shelltown crash.
