Shelly Stevens, 35, Killed in Concord Hit-and-Run Near Marsh Drive and Solano Way
CONCORD, CA (September 6, 2020) – A woman killed after an alleged hit-and-run crash near Marsh Drive and Solano Way early Saturday has been identified.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department said 35-year-old Shelly Stevens, a resident of Lafayette, died following the collision on September 5.
An initial investigation indicated that a vehicle apparently struck Stevens near the intersection of Marsh Drive and Solano Way. It happened in an unincorporated area north of Buchanan Field.
Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle in Concord Saturday, September 5
California Highway Patrol officers and sheriff’s deputies responded to the area at around 1 a.m. and found a body of a female pedestrian left lying in the roadway.
Reports by The Mercury News and CBS San Francisco indicated that officials ultimately pronounced the victim, later named as Stevens, dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the crash site. A sheriff’s deputy later located the suspect vehicle nearby.
