Sheng Tu Lin, 73, Killed in Crash on Twentynine Palms Highway and Mohawk Trail
YUCCA VALLEY, CA (September 17, 2020) – An elderly pedestrian was killed after a traffic collision in the area of Twentynine Palms Highway and Mohawk Trail on Wednesday night.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department identified the deceased victim as 73-year-old Sheng Tu Lin, a resident of Yucca Valley.
The incident happened on September 16 when Lin was crossing Twentynine Palms Highway. At the same time, a 2005 Toyota Prius was traveling westbound.
Elderly Pedestrian Hit by Car in Yucca Valley Wednesday
For an unknown reason, the Toyota then struck Lin near the intersection with Mohawk Trail. He was walking home from his family restaurant when he was hit.
According to the article published by KESQ News, paramedics responded and ultimately pronounced the elderly man dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, deputies did not mention if the driver of the Prius immediately stopped after hitting the pedestrian. The cause of the tragic incident remains under investigation.
