Sheriff’s Sergeant Injured in Victorville Crash at Amargosa and Palmdale

VICTORVILLE, CA (February 3, 2023) – A sheriff’s sergeant was hospitalized after a DUI crash at Amargosa and Palmdale roads in Victorville.

According to the Victor Valley News and Daily Press, the accident took place last week on Friday night. Officers responded to the wreck on January 27 at about 10:08 p.m.

The incident began when a GMC Yukon failed to stop at the westbound red stoplight at the intersection of Amargosa and Palmdale roads.

The Victorville Sheriff’s Station said the GMC then struck the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Sergeant in an unmarked Dodge Charger and a Chevy Tahoe.

Drunk Driver Runs Stop Sign, Hits Cars

The Dodge obtained major damage while the Chevy ended up with minor damage as a result of the collision. Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the sergeant hurt.

Medical personnel soon rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, deputies determined that the male driver of the GMC was under the influence of alcohol when he hit the victims. They soon arrested him for felony DUI causing bodily injury. 

Officers forced the area of Amargosa and Palmdale roads to shut down following the wreck. The incident is still under investigation.
