SHERMAN OAKS (August 22, 2016)- According to the Daily News, a deadly collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle was reported Saturday evening at the intersection of Tyrone Street and Riverside Drive.
Police officials were notified of the collision at roughly 9:10 p.m. after a 17-year-old motorist headed eastbound in a Honda Civic along Riverside Drive before plowing into a pedestrian man identified as Armen Hakhnazaryan, 21, from North Hollywood.
The driver, a resident of Canoga Park, pulled the car over and stopped to render aid after hitting the victim.
Armen Hakhnazaryan sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
Los Angeles police officials immediately disclosed that the minor was arrested at the scene and faces charges of vehicular manslaughter.
The minor was later released from jail and back to the custody of his parents.
While the incident remains under investigation, no further details have been released at this time.
