Major Injury Collision Near Ponderosa Way Sunday
Shingletown, CA (January 3, 2022) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on State Route 44, also known as Lassen Peak Highway.
The California Highway Patrol group reported two vehicles collided on the highway near Ponderosa Way. Initial records indicated the accident took place Sunday at approximately 6:15 p.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found one car disabled in the middle of the roadway; and the other vehicle flipped off the traffic lanes.

Responding paramedics rendered aid to all possible victims in the collision. After the evaluation, officials mentioned one person sustained major trauma as a result of the wreck. The name and age of the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Preliminary investigation revealed one driver crossed the double yellow and possibly caused the crash. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the car accident on State Route 44 in Shingletown.
