1 Killed, 5 Injured in Shingletown Crash Near Black Butte Road and Wildcat Road
SHINGLETOWN, CA (June 28, 2021) – A crash killed one person and injured several others near Black Butte Road and Wildcat Road in Shingletown.
According to an article published by the KRCRTV News, the tragic accident took place on Monday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 11:45 a.m.
The incident happened when a Honda Pilot was going south on Black Butte Road near Wildcat Road in Shingletown. At the same time, a Honda Odyssey was traveling north.
For an unknown reason, the Pilot crossed the double yellow line at a blind curve. The California Highway Patrol said in the process, the car slammed head-on into the Odyssey.
2 Cars Collide Head-On
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then confirmed that the man driving the Pilot died as a result of the collision.
Five people riding the Odyssey sustained minor to moderate injuries following the wreck. Medical personnel took them to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Black Butte and Wildcat to shut down for around two hours following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Shingletown crash is still under investigation.
