RV, 3 Cars Crash on Highway 44 Near Mt. Lassen/Shingletown KOA
SHINGLETOWN, Calif. (August 14, 2020) — A multi-vehicle crash involving a 20-foot motorhome was reported Friday in front of the Mount Lassen/Shingletown KOA Holiday on Highway 44 in Shingletown.
The major-injury collision was reported at 9:18 a.m. between four vehicles in Shasta County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The motorists involved were a Toyota 4Runner SUV, a Hyundai Veracruz, an Infiniti QX4 and the recreational vehicle. All of the vehicles except the Infiniti suffered front-end damage in the crash and all four were taken away by tow trucks.
Paramedics responded and rushed at least one person to a hospital with major injuries. There were children in at least one of the vehicles, but they were unharmed, police said.
The cause of the crash was not disclosed in the CHP report, but an investigation is underway to determine fault.
