Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Shingletown Hit-and-Run on Highway 44

SHINGLETOWN, CA (August 9, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 44 in Shingletown.

According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Monday night. Officers reported the incident at about 9:12 p.m.

CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Shingletown. The driver hit the person on Highway 44 near a fire station.

Victim Hit by Vehicle

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Mill Creek Road. They found the victim left wounded as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of moderate to major injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that that the motorist did not stop to help the victim and fled the area. Officers forced a stretch of Highway 44 to shut down following the collision.

The cause of the Shingletown hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
