Sidney Mosby Killed in 405 Freeway Collision Near Getty Center Drive

Los Angeles, CA (June 17, 2025) — Sidney Mosby, 67, died in a car accident early Monday morning on the northbound 405 Freeway just south of Getty Center Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. on June 16th and involved at least two vehicles, the report said. Initial reports indicated that one vehicle was positioned on the right shoulder facing westbound, while another was disabled in the HOV lane. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene, and CHP units worked to control traffic and assess the damage.
Fatal Car Accident on I-405 Freeway
By 3:45 a.m., Los Angeles Fire Department personnel had arrived with an ambulance, and a request was made for the county coroner to respond, confirming that the collision had resulted in at least one fatality. Tow trucks from All City Tow were also called in to assist in clearing the vehicles involved, including a silver Nissan Altima with major front-end damage.
Authorities temporarily diverted traffic off the freeway at Getty Center Drive and Sepulveda Boulevard to facilitate emergency operations and investigation.
Sidney Mosby was later identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as the man who died.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area during the morning commute and seek alternate routes while the investigation continues. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
