Pedestrian Killed in Sierra Mesa Crash at Aero Drive and Murphy Canyon Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 21, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a crash at Aero Drive and Murphy Canyon Road in Sierra Mesa.
According to an article published by the San Diego Union-Tribune, the tragic accident occurred late Saturday night. Officers reported the collision shortly after 10:15 p.m.
San Diego police said the vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in the Serra Mesa neighborhood. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Aero Drive and Murphy Canyon Road.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the soon paramedics arrived at the scene. They found the victim down on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel confirmed that the pedestrian later died. The name of the deceased party remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. Officers forced the area of Aero Drive and Murphy Canyon to shut down for a time following the crash.
The cause of the fatal Sierra Mesa pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
