2 Injured in Crash on MLK Jr. Parkway in Sierra Vista
SIERRA VISTA, Calif. (Jan. 11, 2024) – Two people were hospitalized Wednesday after a Sierra Vista car accident on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway near Avenida Escuela.
The two-vehicle collision on Jan. 10th led to a brief closure of MLK Jr. Parkway, according to the Herald Review.
Paramedics responded and rushed both drivers to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries One of the motorists was airlifted to University Medical Center in Banner and the other who allegedly failed to yield the right-of-way was taken to a local hospital.
The Sierra Vista Police Department determined the cause of the accident was one of the drivers failed to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic. The driver allegedly turned in front of the other who was traveling eastbound on MLK Jr. Parkway. The at-fault driver made a left-hand turn towards the Lowe’s parking lot when it crashed into the car traveling along MLK Jr. Parkway.
Investigators are working on the Sierra Vista car accident. Police reopened the roadway to traffic at around 4:50 p.m. the same day.
