SIMI VALLEY, California (May 16, 2016) — A man and woman were cut and rescued Sunday afternoon from their overturned pickup truck after it collided with another pickup at the intersection of Country Club Drive East and Madera Road, a report by the Simi Valley Police Department said.
The crash took place about 3:17 p.m. between a white work truck and a silver or white pickup truck. The Ventura County Fire Department rushed to the scene and extricated the two trapped people in the overturned truck using the Jaws of Life. The woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the white work truck was questioned by police and was evaluated for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Simi Valley Police Traffic Division is heading up the investigation into the crash and will determine liability.
